Abstract:
The aim of this paper is to present an empirical analysis of unemployment spells and exit states of the Roma population living in Romania. A dataset of unemployment spells of Roma individuals with ISCED4, ISCED5 and ISCED7 level of education, registered as unemployed at the National Agency of Employment Romania, during January 1st 2014 until 31st December 2017 is analysed. Personal characteristics such as age, gender, education, urban/rural area of living, county and region, previous work experience, reason for leaving unemployment are analysed in association with unemployment duration and exit destinations. The obtained results can be useful for policy makers.
