Abstract:
The paper has as objective to highlighting the importance of the sustainable supply chains in the challeging of making the shift to a circular economy, especially for companies whose structures, strategies, operations and supply chains are deeply rooted in the linear approach. Sustainable supply chains continue to be an important concern globally for both governments and investors. The geopolitical tensions and the effects of the supply blocks caused by Covid-19 continue to highlight the fragility of the global economy from this point of view and the need to understand and strengthen the connections along the supply chains. The sustainability of the supply chain is very important in particular given the paradigm of the circular supply chain that offers opportunities to improve the economic performance.
