Abstract: The budget deficit is a quasi-generalized constant of the contemporary world. Like any fundamental concept, it has been the subject of study in various schools of economic thought and thus its content has been reconsidered over time. In our analysis we aim to provide a diagnosis of the budget balance over the period and of the factors having an impact on its structure and effects, with a view to capturing the process in both static and dynamic terms. Finally, we hope to formulate some conclusions and projections on the effects of the budget deficit on the national economy.
