Abstract: Migration can be understood as the movement of people from one region to another, sometimes within the same country, sometimes across national borders, usually driven by the hope of finding better living or working conditions elsewhere. Migration is a phenomenon that has become increasingly visible in recent years. The growth of this process is influenced by a complex mix of economic realities, political pressures, social dynamics and even environmental changes. Migration affects both the places people leave and the places they move to. Host countries often benefit from the influx of new workers, with skills and cultural diversity that migrants bring. However, at the same time, nations of origin suffer losses, especially when educated or skilled workers leave, a phenomenon often described as the “brain drain”.The objective of the research is to analyze the causes, theoretical approaches, and socio-economic implications of migration in the context of globalization and European integration. The research methodology is based on a theoretical analysis and synthesis of the specialized literature on migration, focusing on key concepts, typologies, and explanatory models. The expected results highlight a clearer understanding of the interdependence between migration flows, labor market dynamics, and socio-economic development. The implications of the research emphasize the importance of coherent migration policies, labor market adaptability, and social inclusion strategies aimed at maximizing the positive effects of migration while minimizing its adverse consequences.
