Abstract: The article discusses the main issues determining the modern and future development of the Arctic sea communications. It is emphasized the factors determining the current traffic flows and it is made their temporal and structural analysis. It is shown the dynamics of the global commodity market and its impact on the transportation in the Arctic. Particular attention is paid to the possibility of sea communications regulating which includes from national interests protection. It is conducted an expert study of separate problems determining the Arctic sea communications development.
