Physical Activity on the Job: Effects on Birth Outcomes and Implications for Public Policy

Abstract: This paper reviews many European and American studies to address the following: (1) the relationship between maternal employment and decreased or low birth weight, and (2) assessment of evidence that would lead to restrictions in employment or requirements for prenatal leave for pregnant working women.
