Abstract: Production factors in the electricity have specific features depending both on primary energy resources (coal, crude oil, hydrapower, nuclear fuel etc.), and on specificity of different activities (power generation, transport and distribution). The peculiar aspects of combining production factors in electricity industry may be expressed by complexity, diversity and motion. The dynamic equilibrium of production factors' development and combination represents the key issue for the competitiveness of electricity industry, an industrial branch where informational systems and advanced technologies would be useless without a high skilled labor force. The paper represents the valorization of the studies carried out within the framework 2002-2004 research program "The optimum of combining production factors in extractive and electricity industry aiming at Romanian economy competitiveness growth".
