Abstract:
The reform that Central and East European countries are performing has generated countless and complicated problems concerning the proportions of this change, its rate and duration, as well as the means of mobilizing the resources necessary to direct the entire social activity towards the requirements of a dynamic and viable market economy. In a way, similar to other Central and East European countries, in Romania these changes are interacting, for a long period of time, with the ones generated by the legislative, institutional, economic and social reform imposed by the transition to the market economy. This is a factor that increases the difficulties of restructuring the Romanian industry, forced to face, at the same time, two challenges.
