Abstract:
Considering the integration into the European Union, inovation represents an essential factor of the industrial competitiveness. The data provided by the statistic survey made during 2000-2002 indicate that the innovating companies represent a low percentage in Romania's processing industry. Unlike small and mid-sized enterprises, big enterprises hold innovating and financial resources in order to include, within the production process, innovating products and processes. The hierarchy of the activities deployed within the processing industry, categorized according to the weight of the innovating enterprises of he total enterprises in the branch during 2000-2002, places on the first three positions, the industry of medical instruments and devices, the industry of chemical substances and products as well as the industry of road transport means.
