Abstract:
The paper presents the output of the research carried out in the first stage (September - December 2007) of the Project with the above mentioned theme (which project will be developed during 2007-2010 period), carried out within the framework of Ministry of Education and Research Program 4 - Partnership in priority areas. The paper is dealing with the theoretical and methodological basis of added value (AV), and the main scientific and pragmatic outlooks about it. A large part of the paper is dedicated to peculiarities on producing AV in the Small and Medium Sized Enterprises, as well as to the analysis of the relationship between the AV's level and the competitiveness of Romanian manufacturing industrial sectors, paying a special attention to Small and Medium Sized Enterprises' specific performances in this direction.
