Abstract: The purpose of this paper is to find, in open sea, where is the pivot point (as being well established in rigid body mechanics and in ship’s manoeuvring theory). It is trying to find evolution of pivot point for a classical turning under current and swell influence. Main target of the work is to correct pivot point theory as it is presented in seafarers books
