Abstract: The Romanian banking system is composed of all commercial banks, which are coordinated by the National Bank of Romania. Besides the role of attracting bank deposits and managing payment methods, banks also play the role of intermediary, which is realized through transactions between debtors and creditors, which is the equation that ensures compatibility between supply and demand in the market, determining thereby, economic growth and increase in the level of the gross domestic product.
