Abstract: This paper analyses the positive and negative aspects deriving from the process of globalization of the financial markets. The financial globalization has numerous advantages for the national economies as well as for the investors, but on the other hand, it also causes many changes in the structure of the markets creating certain risks and challenges for the market participations and politicians. The purpose of this paper is to point to the extent of connection between the financial globalization and the appearance of the contemporary financial crises in the world.
