El nivel de desarrollo económico en Andalucía: análisis diferencial de los factores determinantes en el contexto de las regiones espa~nolas

Abstract: El objetivo principal de este trabajo es analizar la evolución de losfactores determinantes del desarrollo económico relativo andaluz en el contextoregional espa~nol, en el período 1980-2000, as´ı como los obstáculos que planteandichos factores favoreciendo el modelo desigual de crecimiento económico deAndalucía. Se concluye que a pesar de los avances experimentados en capitalf´ısico, capital humano e innovación tecnológica, ´estos han sido insuficientespara que Andalucía haya logrado un proceso mayor de convergencia real enel entorno regional espa~nol, debido fundamentalmente a la presencia de lossiguientes obstáculos: una alta participación de actividades agrarias con escasaproductividad, un fuerte peso de los servicios destinados a la venta con bajaproductividad relativa y un débil tejido industrial y energético con deficienciasen competitividad.*******************The main aim of this paper is to analyze the evolution of the determiningfactors of the relative economic development of Andalucia on theSpanish regional context between 1980-2000, as well as the obstacles that thesefactors raise, favouring the unequal model of economic growth of Andalucia.We conclude that despite the advances in physical capital, human capital andtechnological innovation, they have been insufficient for Andalucia to achievea bigger process of real convergence towards the Spanish regions, mainly dueto the presence of the following obstacles: a high turnout of agricultural activitieswith low productivity, a strong weight of the low-relative productivitymarket services and a weak industry and energy fabric wich shows defficienciesin productivity.
