Algunas reflexiones sobre el desarrollo humano

Abstract: El pensamiento económico ha evolucionado en lo relacionado al crecimiento económico:éste, al principio, se consideró un fin y en los últimos anos un medio para lograr eldesarrollo humano. Así mismo, los términos desarrollo y crecimiento, si bien no sonrecientes en la literatura económica, empiezan a utilizarse con más vehemencia apartir de la posguerra.El ensayo analiza las ideas que se utilizaban en torno al desarrollo hasta 1990, cuandoel PNUD creó el IDH (Índice Desarrollo Humano) como la medida del desarrollohumano.Se describe en el artículo las tres variables básicas que componen el IDH: esperanza devida, nivel educacional e ingreso. Así mismo las modificaciones en la estimación dedichas variables realizadas por el PNUD.__________ABSTRACT:The conceptions about Economy have changed regarding economic growth. At thebeginning it was conceived as an end but lately, a means to achieve humandevelopment. Even though the terms growth and development are not new in theliterature, they are becoming strongly used after post war.The author discusses the ideas related to the concept of development up to the 1990s,when the UNPHD gave birth to the HDI (Human Development Index) as ameasurement of human developmentThe three basic variables of the HDI are described: Life expectancy, educational level,and income. Likewise, the article describes the modifications to the estimation of thesevariables, done by the PNUD.
