Abstract: El artículo presenta una semblanza del entorno político reciente quecompromete una dimensión de las estrategias de la lucha contra las drogas;un mapa del mercado de narcóticos, especialmente centrado en el decocaina; los fundamentos de la estrategia de lucha contra el narcotráfico ylos elementos de su crísis; la dimensión del Negocio de la cocaína,considerando una cuantificación de la magnitud del mismo y laconcentración de las grandes rentas en los centros financieros de las paísesconsumidores; una visión alternativa al control del mercado de sustanciaspsicoactivas, destacándose el programa; del fracaso e implicaciones de laopción militar al control de la economía de la cocaína, aspecto cuyo análisisse fundamenta en las cifras que arroja la permanencia de las áreas cultivadas,el precio minorista en las calles de ciudades estadounidenses, el aumentode los consumidores, y las implicaciones sociales y políticas que ha generadopara los países andinos, entre otros aspectos._________Resumen:The article presents displays one semblanza of the recent political surroundingsthat jeopardize a dimension of the strategies of the fight against drugs;A map of the narcotic market, specially centered in the cocaina market;The foundations of the strategy of fight against the drug trafficking and theelements of its crísis; The dimension of the Business of the cocaine, consideringof the concentration and a quantification magnitude same of the great rentsin the financial centers of the consuming countries; An alternativevision to the control of the market of psychoactive substances, standing outthe program; Of the failure and implications of the military option to thecontrol of the economy of the cocaine, aspect whose analysis is based on thesocial and political numbers that the permanence of the cultivated areas,the retail price in the streets of American cities, the increase of the consumersthrows, and implications whom it has generated for the Andean countries, amongother aspects.
