Abstract:
'In the actual document, a short review is realized about classic authors' thought still relevant for studying the modern society, in order to compare their analysis methodologies with current methodologies. Specifically, the assumption of representative agent is followed up and its consequences in some basic neoclassical growth models which are usually used for making economic policy. Importance of the assumptions as a set is recognized inside the neoclassical framework and it formalization; moreover, its impact is considered in the analysis of distributive effects of economic growth and inequality. It is found that it must be special carefully when conclusions are based on models which integrate this assumption, due to the redistribute effects are not negligible.'
