Abstract: This paper reviews the most important contributions of some intellectuals to the management theory: Adam Smith, Alfred Marshall, Frederick Taylor, Frank Gilbreth, Lillian Moller Gilbreth, Henry Ford, Henri Fayol, Maximilian Carl Emil Weber and Alfred Sloan. This latter, developed different works on the American industry, analyzed from studies of Alfred Chandler. Based on principles of Alfred Sloan, this document aims to present the evolution of Nutresa business group with a view and, to develop an analysis of the current organizational form of the conglomerate
