Abstract:
Colombia has some environmental and ecologicalcharacteristics specific for the neotropic, whichmake it specific and unique. However, developmentmodels applied are against these characteristics. This article shows how governmental policies donot recognize characteristics which are inherentto sustainable human development, and thereforeit creates serious urban and rural environmentalproblems. In comparison, there are some generaloutlines to create a development proposal based onColombian ecological characteristics.
