Diferenciales de productividad empresarial según su posición internacional. El caso del sector químico espanol

Abstract: espanolas y portuguesas del sector químico en el ano 2011, con el objetivo de contribuir a la literatura económica al determinar si las empresas que se internacionalizan, ya sea mediante exportación o inversión, son más productivas que aquellas que no venden en el mercado mundial. En primer lugar se elabora una muestra de corte transversal para posteriormente realizar la estimación de la función de producción. Por último, se concluye que en la muestra utilizada la actividad exportadora es la que tiene un mayor peso en el crecimiento de la productividad. ****** In this paper it is studied the link between productivity and international position occupied by the Spanish and Portuguese companies in the chemical sector in 2011. The aim is contribute to the economic literature determining if the firms that internationalize, either by exports or investment, are more productive than those not sell in the world market. First, it is produced a cross-sectional sample with the goal of make the estimation of the production function. Finally, it is concluded that in the sample used, the export activity is the one that has a higher weight in the growth of productivity
