Abstract: En este ensayo se busca analizar los modelos y técnicas administrativas empleados por los emprendedores locales en el empeno por sacar adelante sus proyectos. El ferrocarril puede considerarse como el factor más determinante en el desarrollo de Girardot y la región durante el Siglo XX, por las repercusiones que a nivel local, nacional e internacional alcanzó la actividad desarrollada alrededor de éste medio de transporte. Así, se busca reconocer y analizar la consolidación de dicha empresa e identificar sus aspectos económicos y competitivos de mayor relevancia. La historia empresarial sobre el Ferrocarril de Girardot hace posible adentrarse en la investigación sobre la definición de las causas y circunstancias que motivaron la creación del ferrocarril en el municipio, su evolución y principales logros a lo largo de las décadas; así como los motivos que generaron su posterior desaparición como sistema de transporte de carga. ****** This essay seeks analyze models and management techniques employed by local entrepreneurs in the effort to carry out their projects. The rail can be considered the most decisive factor in the development of Girardot and region during the twentieth century about the impact on local, national and international levels reached the activity around this means of transport. Thus, it seeks to recognize and analyze the consolidation of the company and identify economic and competitive aspects of greatest relevance. The corporate history of the Girardot Railway makes possible to go in research on the definition of the causes and circumstances that led to the creation of the railway in the town, its evolution and major achievements over the decades, and the reasons that led subsequent disappearance as freight system.
