Abstract: Se pretende identificar tendencias de la industria manufacturera en Colombia, específicamente en lo que se refiere a su localización regional, utilizando los datos de empleo industrial. Con la aplicación de índices convencionales se corrobora el carácter concentrado de la producción manufacturera y el perfil de la especialización regional. Se enfatiza la importancia de un proceso de causación acumulativa que se ha suscitado en torno a los grandes centros con alto potencial de mercado. En la sección final se hace un recuento de la evolución del perfil productivo de los departamentos industriales y se senalan cambios recientes en el acomodo geográfico de algunas agrupaciones. **** This document tries to identify some trends in colombian industry, mainly in the geographical localization of production, using statistics on industrial employment. It applies some indicators that verify the geographically concentrated nature of industry, and its specialized profile. This exercise stresses the operation of an accumulative process that concentrates the manufacturing activities at places with potent markets. Finally, it makes a summary of the evolution of productive profiles in industrial regions, and identifies recent changes in the localization of specific industrial sectors.
