El sector agropecuario en las diferentes series de Cuentas Nacionales del DANE

Abstract: Desde el principio de los anos setenta, cuando asumió la responsabilidad de calcular las Cuentas Nacionales de Colombia, el DANE ha establecido varias series, usando como referencia diferentes anos base: 1975, 1994, 2000 y la nueva serie tomando el 2005 como ano de referencia. Este artículo pretende dar una primera visión sobre la tendencia de la importancia relativa del sector agropecuario, desde 1965, como aparece a través de cada una de estas series, y proveer una primera explicación a las diferencias, aunque en todos los casos se registra una marcada disminución de su participación en este período. ****** Since the early 70s in which DANE was given the responsibility of compiling the Colombian National Accounts, it has produced various series of National Accounts using years 1975, 1994, 2000 as base years, and it is currently finishing the construction of a new series with 2005 as base year. This paper intends to give a first insight into the trend of the relative importance of the agricultural sector since 1965, to show how each of these series describes the phenomenon, and to provide a first general explanation of the differences that can be found, though in all cases, a decline of this participation is a historical fact.
