Abstract: Este artículo es el resultado del abordaje de una problemática social vigente en la ciudad de Barranquilla, que se originó con la formulación y ejecución del proyecto de investigación: La Informalidad en el Centro Histórico de la Ciudad de Barranquilla en el ano 2012, con el cual se logró analizar las implicaciones de las actividades comerciales realizadas por los vendedores informales de este sector de la ciudad; y aportar datos significativos a la elaboración de políticas públicas futuras dirigidas al mejoramiento de la calidad de vida de estas personas y de sus familiares.PALABRAS CLAVESCalidad de vida, economía informal y política pública.
