Abstract:
The paper focuses on the bydgosko-torunski composition of the functional and settlement aspects analyzed from the perspective of history and of the contemporary conditions determining the borderlines of this area. The appearance of the term of â€the bydgosko-toruĹ„ska agglomeration’ at the turn of the 1960s and 1970s initiated a debate on the legitimacy of the isolation of the analyzed composition and treating it either as a whole or separately. The contemporary delimitation of the BTOM was worked out based on the aggregate urbanization index and was completed with the analysis of the functional connections – commuting to work.
