Abstract: The article focuses on the problem of determination of conditions leading to a specific structure of the sources of financing of infrastructure investment projects by municipalities in Poland. The article identifies the major factors that encourage municipalities to finance investment projects from various, particularly external, sources. The starting point of the study was the selection of characteristics (variables) describing this phenomenon, found in previous research and economic literature.
