Vertical gender segregation in the economic theories within the European Union

Abstract:
The objective of this paper is to describe and organise the determinants of vertical gender segregation in the workplace described in the economic theories as well as to evaluate vertical gender segregation in Member States. In order to achieve the said objective, three tasks were performed, namely: showing determinants of vertical gender segregation in the economic theories, analysing the index of vertical gender segregation in Member States and analysing the level of relational index of gender segregation in the European Union.
