Abstract:
In 1975, Canadian Public Policy/Analyse de politiques (CPP/Adp) was launched as an economics-led, multidisciplinary, and less technical journal to encourage policy research and discussion. With specific reference to the enduring topic of income security, we discuss how the content of the journal has evolved into more technical and applied policy research that reflects a changing academic and policy environment but which has also sustained increasingly sophisticated empirical research on important Canadian economic and social issues. CPP/Adp as an applied economics/social science journal with a policy-relevant focus has emerged as a vital journal for promoting research on Canadian economic and policy issues.
