Competitiveness of agricultural enterprises of the region and prospective areas of improvement

Abstract: The article analyzes the level of competitiveness of agricultural enterprises at the regional level by combining the use of the profile method and the BCG matrix method; a very strong correlation (0.99) was found between the area of agricultural land and one of the most important indicators of competitiveness – the profit per unit of land area. The necessity of development of organic agriculture as a promising direction of increasing the competitiveness of agricultural enterprises is substantiated
