Abstract:
Economic growth remained relatively subdued in the second half of last year, at around ½ per cent per quarter. However, this is faster than in the first half of 2005 (see figure 1). Over the year as a whole the economy expanded by 1.7 per cent in 2005. We expect economic growth to accelerate in 2006 and 2007 to around 2¼ and 2¾ per cent per annum respectively.
