Abstract: The results of the analysis of Russian imports in various segments of the electrical products market are presented. It is shown that one of the ways to increase the level of competitiveness and ensure the import independence of enterprises for the production of electrical equipment is the formation of innovative key competencies. The system of development of innovative competencies of enterprises for the production of electrical equipment in the field of import substitution is considered.
