Regional potential of agriculture in the field of soybean processing (on materials of the Tambov region)

Abstract: The article contains the results of a study of the current situation with the cultivation and processing of soybeans in the Tambov region in the context of the role of this crop in solving the problem of food import substitution. The object of the research is the sectoral economy and the regional soybean market. The purpose of the study is to find options for enhancing the production of soybeans on the material, technical and organizational base of the regional agricultural sector. According to the results of the analysis, the work hypothesis was confirmed that increasing production volumes and deepening the degree of processing of soy raw materials with minimal investment costs are possible on the basis of the region's internal resources, if the existing elevator industries take the material, technical and organizational base for the development of the sub-sector. The article presents the results of the economic substantiation of this strategy on the materials of Karyan-Stroganovskiy Elevator.
