Abstract:
This study investigates the environmental factors influencing women’s investment behaviour in Meerut District, Uttar Pradesh, India. Using a mixed-method approach, the research analyzes socio-demographic characteristics such as age, education, income, marital status, and occupation alongside psychological variables including financial literacy and risk tolerance. Findings indicate strong interrelationships between education and financial literacy as well as between marital status and investment risk preferences. The study highlights the influence of family dynamics, social norms, and access to financial information in shaping women’s investment decisions. The paper provides policy recommendations aimed at promoting financial inclusion and empowering women to participate more actively in financial markets.
