Abstract:
In France, the summer of 2023 was characterized by the pre-trial detention of a police officer accused of violence and what some, through abuse of language and not devoid of bad faith, have described as “urban riots”. The way in which these two almost concomitant events followed by others, identical, although of lesser importance, were managed is encouraging to ask some questions about their cyclical or structural character with regard to the rule of law, even if comparison is not reasonable and if an approach consisting of comparing distant and different historical periods does not is not without limits
