Abstract:
Our reflection through this research addresses the question of the ontology of truth in the philosophy of saint Thomas Aquinas. Here, we aim to explore how the famous theologian and medieval philosopher conceives truth as an ontological entity. According to saint Thomas, truth is a property of things that corresponds to their objective reality. He argues that truth is based on the conformity between the intellect and external reality, and that it is this conformity that allows the intellect to grasp truth. Truth is therefore, for saint Thomas, an objective and universal reality that transcends individual opinions and subjective perceptions. By closely examining the thomistic ontology of truth, we also aim to highlight the depth of its philosophicaltheological reflection.
