Abstract: The impact of economic growth on external debt has been a subject which has continually preoccupied academic circles and government policymakers, a debatable issue among scholars since the start of the debt crisis in the 1980s. This work examines the link of economic growth that affects this desire of destment from the international capital markets of a heavily indebted country through over-indebtedness and the crowding out effect of debt. The rise in energy prices that occurred from the 2000s enabled government decision-makers to reconstitute a “strong reserve, institutional savings” to fulfill this financial dependence. to withdraw entirely from this debt. The question that is raised in this work, which we will try to answer, consists in studying the influence of economic growth on this international debt reduction through different channels such as foreign direct investment, international reserves, investment etc.., which have reinforced the economic weight and constitute an additional source of financing. The analysis of this link will be proposed using an econometric analysis model the AutoRegressive Distributed Lag (ARDL) for the period selected.
