Abstract: Space design places its evolution in a perspective that keeps on swinging between the freedom of creation and the respect for the environment. Space design is then introduced as an activity that is being instrumentalized to serve the renewal of productivism. Space design and ecological strategies are considered equal ideological factors. These two notions are in fact combined, both would relate to critical situations. Environmental opinions thus maintained would divert minds towards an unreal opponent: ecological change, and would let believe in a possible return to harmonious relationships with natural elements. In Tunisia, they would thus hide stagnated relationships of social and economic domination despite the protests to which they have been the subject since the end of the 1990s. Reflection around the integration of the ecological issues and challenges of the 21st century into the strategies of sustainable development according to new – and constantly renewed – perspectives could be articulated around this question, What are the strategies that were developed in favor of the conciliation between the creation of the designer and the preservation of the environment with regard to new sustainable development strategies?
