Coworking-Spaces: Chancen für Entrepreneurship und Business Model Design

Abstract: Coworking-Spaces werden als dritte Welle der Wissensarbeit diskutiert. Täglich werden neue Coworking-Spaces eröffnet. Coworking beschreibt die entgeltliche Nutzung von (Büro-) Arbeitsplätzen und sozialen Interaktionsräumen (z. B. Cafeteria) des Coworking-Spaces durch Coworkende als Mitglieder und Nutzer. Dieser Beitrag führt dieses neue Konzept aus der Praxis in den wissenschaftlichen Diskurs ein, erläutert verschiedene Formen und diskutiert die Möglichkeiten von Coworking-Spaces zur Förderung von Entrepreneurship und Business Model Design und Entwicklung. / Coworking-spaces are discussed as the third wave of knowledge work. New coworking-spaces open daily. Coworking describes the use of (office) workplaces and room for social interaction (e. g. cafeteria) in a coworking-space by its members and users against payment. This article introduces the novel concept from practice into the scientific discourse, explaining different forms and discussing the capabilities of coworking-spaces to promote entrepreneurship, business model design, and business model development.
