Offline-First Mobile Architecture: Enhancing Usability and Resilience in Mobile Systems

Journal of Artificial Intelligence General science (JAIGS) ISSN:3006-4023, 2024, vol. 7, issue 01, 320-326

Abstract: Mobile applications necessitate usability even in the face of unreliable network connectivity. Offline-first architecture is a robust design paradigm where applications treat network access as an optional feature rather than a strict requirement. This paper refines the offline-first approach by exploring advanced architectural considerations, including synchronization strategies, secure local data storage, formal verification techniques for ensuring consistency guarantees, and insights derived from industry best practices. Drawing on academic research and open-source implementations, we evaluate the trade-offs between consistency and availability, performance optimization strategies, and the user experience implications associated with delayed synchronization. By revisiting synchronization models, security frameworks, and performance-oriented techniques, this paper establishes offline-first as a resilient and user-centric architecture for mobile systems.
