Abstract:
This qualitative study analyzes the violation of the right to health at the Bellavista 1 Social Rehabilitation Center. Admission procedures, medical care, financial resources and available medical personnel were evaluated. Through inductive-deductive, historical-logical and scientific methods, and interviews with former inmates, lawyers and the former director of the center, insufficient care, lack of medicines for chronic diseases and shortage of medical personnel were evidenced. The investigation reveals deficiencies in the coordination between SNAI and the Ministry of Health, violating rights protected by the Ecuadorian Constitution and international treaties, considering this population as a priority
