Health Leadership and Quality of Life, 2023, vol. 2, 264

Abstract: Introduction The study addressed the problem of professional intrusion in dentistry, with an emphasis on social networks as platforms that facilitate the dissemination of risky and unregulated practices. According to the WHO, almost 45% of the world's population suffered from oral diseases, which highlights the need to strengthen oral health education and access to adequate treatment. Development The research highlighted how social networks, such as TikTok and Instagram, encouraged dangerous trends in dental health, such as the placement of false brackets and the use of ultrasonic devices by untrained people. These practices violated legal and ethical regulations, exposing users to significant risks. In addition, the importance of oral health education strategies, promoted by organizations such as WHO and PAHO, to prevent common diseases such as caries and periodontitis was emphasized. Conclusions It was concluded that intrusiveness in dentistry represents an ethical, legal and social challenge that requires collaboration between professionals, regulators and digital platforms. Strict regulation, health education and professional ethics are essential to protect patients and combat misinformation. This joint effort will help ensure trust in dental treatments and in licensed professionals.
