Impact of COVID-19 on mathematical learning in 9- to 11-year-olds

Abstract: The COVID 19 has caused a problem in students from 9 to 11 years old in their learning of mathematics. for different causes such as lack of technological devices, laptops, smartphones, lack of internet, etc. Another cause that caused the desertion of students to receive virtual classes was to work with their parents in the fields in the rural sector. therefore, this research aims to analyze the impact that the emergence of COVID 19 has had on the learning of mathematics of the four basic operations in students from 9 to 11 years old. The COVID 19; had an impact on the problem of learning mathematics, having a worldwide affectation, within each country and different peoples of each region, so the teacher in his effort to achieve the best possible grasp of math problems applied different ways such as calls and WhatsApp messages with questions about the requirements to properly perform a job, dates to deliver it, doubts and, above all, requests to review the progress of a task and provide them with feedback. The strategies implemented during the pandemic facilitate online learning. Teacher training in educational technologies and access to devices and connectivity are key elements to ensure a successful transition to online learning. Assessment and feedback are important components of mathematics learning. This hinders their ability to identify and correct errors, to measure their progress and understanding in mathematics.
