Gutiérrez, Laaz, Pardo, Villamar and Román

Health Leadership and Quality of Life, 2024, vol. 3, .77

Abstract: This study assessed how lifestyles in the rural community of Cruz Alta de Miguelillo affect the health of its inhabitants. The community faces various health problems due to its remote location and lack of access to basic services such as drinking water and sewage. This has contributed to the prevalence of diseases such as dengue, gastrointestinal infections, diabetes and hypertension. The diet, based on local foods, lacks balance, and physical activity is limited to agricultural tasks, with no organized recreational activities. Poor housing conditions and limited medical care aggravate the situation. The results underscore the need to improve living conditions and promote healthy habits to reduce morbidity and mortality in the community.
