Abstract:
Basis: the last decades have been characterized by deep social, economic, technological and scientific transformations that give a new value to knowledge. Faced with the challenges of current public health, medical students fail to consciously and explicitly develop investigative skills related to the modes of professional action during their career. Objective: to evaluate the results of the application of a strategy for the formation of investigative skills in medical students of the Hermanos Cruz University Polyclinic, in the Pinar del Río municipality, during five academic years between 2020 and 2024.Methods: a descriptive, longitudinal and prospective investigation was carried out. The population consisted of 42 inmates and 59 teachers. Empirical (group interview with teachers and student surveys) and theoretical methods were used. Results: the students and professors recognized the importance of the formation of investigative skills, as a consequence of the structuring and content system of the proposed strategy, as well as the contribution of the clinical method in the process of formation of investigative skills. Conclusions: the evaluation of the partial implementation of the specific actions, through the application of an experience, demonstrated the relevance of the research carried out in achieving the formation of investigative skills in the students included in the study and in conceiving the training process. of these skills, based on clinical and epidemiological methods as fundamental agents and motors of this process.
