Abstract: Teacher evaluation in higher medical education demands innovative strategies to foster a culture of recognition and encouragement. This study presents the design and implementation of the “Crystal Pointer” distinction, aimed at recognizing the exceptional performance of teachers in the Faculty of Medical Sciences of Artemisa, Cuba. The methodology included the integration of multidimensional criteria: excellence in undergraduate/postgraduate teaching, contribution to political-ideological formation, methodological leadership, research productivity (projects, publications and scientific events), continuous professional improvement and evaluation of “Excellent” for five consecutive years. The distinction is awarded annually in an institutional event, linked to the Educator's Day, to reinforce its symbolic value. The results show that this mechanism promotes teaching motivation, institutional commitment and academic quality by aligning individual objectives with organizational goals. In addition, it functions as an incentive for promotion to higher categories, scientific degrees and accelerated professional development.
