Physical activity plan to lower blood pressure in hypertensive patients

Abstract: Cardiovascular diseases have become the leading cause of death in all countries of the world. Arterial hypertension is the most frequent cardiovascular disease and has reached worldwide epidemic proportions in recent decades. Regular physical exercise is an important pillar that contributes to maintaining a good state of health and enables the prevention and treatment of many diseases. However, at present, the possibilities of wellbeing that its practice can bring are still not taken advantage of. to develop a plan of physical activities to reduce blood pressure in hypertensive patients of the medical office No. 21 in the “Puerto Esperanza” popular council of Viñales municipality, Pinar del Río in the year 2022. Method: an intervention study was carried out, the universe and sample coincide, made up of 54 hypertensive patients between 65 and 70 years of age, theoretical, empirical and descriptive statistical methods were applied, taking into account the characteristics of each patient, the various factors associated with inadequate lifestyle habits. physical activities were planned according to the patient's characteristics and classification of arterial hypertension, medical control during the practice of physical exercises should be carried out before, during and at the end of each training session, allowing easy and quick decisions to be made regarding the dosage of the work. the practice of systematic physical activity is recommended in hypertensive patients to reduce and control blood pressure, improving their quality of life.
