Post cesarean patient care for severe preeclampsia and Covid-19

Abstract: Cesarean section is a type of surgical procedure in which an incision is made in the mother's abdomen and uterus to remove one or more babies. Preeclampsia usually begins after 20 weeks of pregnancy in a woman with normal blood pressure. This work is the development of the nursing care process (PAE), as a tool to provide timely and effective care for the recovery of the patient. The objective of this study was to apply the Nursing Care Process to a post-cesarean section patient with severe pre-eclampsia, in light of the eleven functional patterns of Marjorie Gordon.Qualitative study, single case type, which included a 36-year-old patient selected at the convenience of the researchers. The five stages of the nursing care process were considered, it began with the comprehensive assessment of the patient where a framework validated by experts in the area was used, formulation of diagnoses and care planning according to the taxonomy of NANDA, NOC and NIC. The evaluation was obtained through the difference in final and baseline scores. Eleven altered patterns were identified, three were prioritized: cognitive perceptual, tolerance to situations and stress and metabolic nutritional. Eight nursing diagnoses were identified; Three were prioritized: Acute pain, Anxiety and Fluid volume deficiency, based on the SSPFR format (signs and symptoms, problem and related factor); change score of +2, +1 and +1 with a tendency to improve with scheduled treatments. It is concluded that the PAE is the scientific tool that leads the nurse to carry out care plans directly and individually in the face of a specific situation in a rational, logical and systematic way, however, survival and treatment success lies in timely detection of problems and their treatment.
