Abstract: Introduction: Ectopic pregnancy is the implantation of the embryo that occurs outside the endometrial lining of the uterine cavity: in the fallopian tube, the uterine interstitium, the cervix, the ovary or the abdominal or pelvic cavity. Ectopic pregnancies are also known as tubal pregnancies, these in turn can cause an acute abdomen with vital compromise of the patient if not intervened in a timely manner. To describe nursing care in complicated ectopic pregnancy. Methodology: A qualitative study was carried out, with a unique clinical case design based on the Nursing Care process (PAE), applying Maryori Gordon's functional pattern assessment guide as an instrument to a 34-year-old obstetric patient. 7 nursing diagnoses were identified, of which the diagnosis was prioritized. Acute pain r/c physical injurious agents’ m/p facial expression of pain, expressive behavior. The interventions performed were satisfactory, the patient was able to reduce the intensity of pain; however, in the case of hemorrhage, the results are still indefinite due to the few hours of intervention and evaluation. The clinical characteristics of the patient corresponding to complicated ectopic pregnancy and the risk factors that increase possible complications were identified. The care was administered observing improvement in the altered patterns, all framed in the nursing process and thus allowing us to provide timely and quality care.
