Feeling-thinking bodies-territories along the Negro River. An ethnography of the West Coast Neighborhood in the neo-extractive present of the town of Allen, Río Negro

Abstract: The proposal consists of presenting the progress of the current Master's thesis project in Social Sciences, whose object of study is the sentiments of the bodies-territories produced by the population of the Costa Oeste neighborhood, in the city of Allen (Río Negro), in its connection with the Negro River. The importance of the river crosses several areas that make life possible in the region, and Costa Oeste is the neighborhood of the city of Allen closest to it. However, between 2012 and 2013, the method of non-conventional extraction of hydrocarbons is consolidated in the region. It appears the need to propose narratives that include as categories the territory, the body and nature in the analysis of the resulting socio-environmental conflicts. The proposal is inserted in the field of social, legal and territorial studies; from transdisciplinary, situated and gender perspectives. The proposal is to investigate how the community of the West Coast Neighborhood feels their body territories in their relationship with the Negro River. In this way, attention will be paid to the meanings that the people of the neighborhood attribute to the territory, to their bodies, and to the Negro River. We also inquire about the transformations that can be observed when thinking about bodies-territories in the current neo-extractivist context. Finally, we will analyze how the political-legal decisions that have implemented the neo-extractivist model in the region have influenced the production of sentipensares in the body-territories
