Russian in Dagestan in the Second Half of the 19th Century to the Beginning of the 20th one: Distribution and Role in the Development of Russian-Dagestan Relations

Abstract: Aim is showing the ways and difficulties of spreading Russian in the Dagestan society, its role in the development of the processes of Russian-Dagestan mutual influence in the spheres of economic and everyday activity, education and enlightenment. The methodological basis of the study is historicism and system analysis, providing a comprehensive study of social processes in dynamics, through a set of interrelations and interdependencies.Conclusions. At the beginning of the 20th century Russian became widespread in the Dagestan society. Russian schools, teachers and libraries worked in the Dagestan region, and Dagestanians got the opportunity to study outside the republic. A large role in spreading Russian was played by immigrants from Russia. Thanks to the Russian language, the processes of mutual influence and interaction between Russians and Dagestan peoples in different areas of life were intensified.
